Last week, four Indonesian Student in Egypt was arrested by Egyptian Police for Terrorism suspection. The Student was arrested by the Police for opening Ikhwanul Muslimun website www.ikhwanweb.com. Egypt government is long known as America's and Israel close friend, this is shown by the closing of Palestine-Egypt during Israel aggression last year.
Indonesia embassy seems to makes this close to public by asking those student not to tell their story to media in Indonesia and also the embassy is not sue Egyptian police for the case. Despite the democratic problem in Egypt, the response of government, especially the Indonesian Embassy in Egypt is unacceptable. Ambassador Abdurrahman Mohammad Fachir should be proactive in helping those student and makes them safe in the study.
Every family that send their children to study abroad hope that their children will makes a great achievement in their study, not to being beaten by the local government. This responsible should be in the Indonesian Embassy responsibility.
We, as a tax payer, pay the tax to government to receive protection from the government whether in our own country and also abroad.
