Indonesia Police women and Jilbab

Since the Aceh peace process, now East Java and its new Police Chief, Gen. Anton Bahrul Alam, have starts to suggest Muslims police women to wear jilbab in their daily task. Gen. Anton, former official police force spokesperson indeed have been given some new paradigm in the police force.

In routine meeting with East Java police forces, Gen Anton give the suggestion for muslim policewomen to wear jilbab (head scarf) in their daily duty to respect the local values of east java people, mostly are coming from Islamic school known as pesantren.

Hopefully what have done in Indonesia police forces will be influence the Indonesia military to let their muslim official to wear jilbab and also other institution for not forbid their muslim employee from wearing jilbab.
